Lynne and Michael Designate UJA as an IRA Beneficiary

Lynne and Michael

Caring, passionate, and generous are three words that best describe Lynne and Michael’s commitment to helping others. Having met in college and married 36 years ago, as with so many, offering their time to volunteer was their most abundant charitable resource.

While Michael grew his career as a corporate attorney, Lynne decided to leave the marketing world to raise their three children and devote more time to charitable endeavors. Their ability to provide greater financial resources also grew — supporting Jewish causes, higher education, and at-risk children in particular. Their philanthropy is a testament to their philosophy that actions speak louder than words.

At UJA, Lynne has spent countless hours helping vulnerable members of the Jewish community in New York, Israel, and around the world. She is particularly passionate and proud about her hands-on and leadership work with UJA’s Community Initiative for Holocaust Survivors, enabling so many who have suffered so much to age with dignity and joy.

With the birth of a granddaughter 16 months ago, Lynne began to discuss with Michael what their legacy to help build a better world for her would be. Believing that “a legacy gift is a statement to family of what we stand for,” they decided to name UJA a beneficiary of Michael’s IRA.

As Lynne says, “If you care about an organization, making a legacy gift is the way to show ultimate trust.” They trust UJA not only to take care of needs today, but also far into the future, when they are no longer here, and their granddaughter and other new generations will be.
